Psychological and neuropsychological assessments are often indicated and help our team understand, at an in‑depth level, what is happening with your brain and body.
Some disorders we commonly evaluate are:
- Autism Diagnostic and Observation Schedule (ADOS), for new diagnosis of Autism spectrum disorder
- Speech and Language Impairment (of unknown origin)
- Neuropsycho-educational assessments
- ADHD and Learning Disabilities
- Intellectual Disability
- Psychiatric Disorders
The process involves several steps:
- A comprehensive initial evaluation focusing on the clinical history and development
- Obtaining standardized objective measures from various sources, including patient, family and teachers
- Review of previous neuropsychological tests (if indicated), Individualized education plan documents (IEP) etc.
- Completing standardized test to measure brain and emotional functionality and assessments for IQ, attention, memory, visuo-spatial skills, as well as behavioral/emotional functioning.
- Preparation of a comprehensive report incorporating these elements and discussion of the findings and treatment plan recommendations in a feedback session.
- We will be providing recommendations /letters for school /employment and connecting you to other resources in the community as well.
